One Night In Sydney

Look, I'll explain on Friday. The main thing is, I'm about to leave for the airport to fly to Sydney. I'll be there for one evening and then flying out tomorrow afternoon. I've been to Sydney a bunch of times and have done all of the touristy things such as seeing the bridge and the Opera House, watching an iMax movie and visiting the attractions at Darling Harbour. I haven't visited Centrepoint Tower yet and I've also been wanting to go to the Hard Rock Cafe for ages. What else should I do? If you had one night to kill in Sydney, what would you do?

  1. Have you climbed the bridge or just seen it?
    Have fun.

  2. What would I do in Sydney? A. Make love to a handsome young Australian man. B. Enjoy a meal at one of the best restaurants in town. C. Go to sleep because I'm almost always tired. C. is the most likely answer. Going to the Hard Rock Cafe would never be a choice for me because their food is expensive, not that great (so I've been told), and they're always crowded. I hope your trip goes well and that you get to go to the Hard Rock.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. Whom must I fuck or pay to get a quotation at the top at the top of your blog post? I can write something pithy.

    2. I did consider one of your quotes when I was first writing it. It was very similar to Robyn's.

Come to think of it, I don't know why I'm so keen on the Hard Rock :P

    3. Hard Rock Cafes look as if they're fun and cool, but everyone tells me they are crowded, expensive, and not at all enjoyable. I would love it if you were the first person to tell me you had a good time at the Hard Rock Cafe. I'm going to start submitting statements in an effort to be quoted in your header.

    4. I must say I think what I said was better than what Robyn said (although I like Robyn very much) because I actually have a daughter, and I actually offered her to you. The truth is I want to get her out of the country because she makes me miserable. She can't be bothered to speak to me, and I happen to be an excellent parent.

    5. My first attempt at a statement for your header, and yes, I know I've told you this before: My son is exactly one foot taller than you are.

    6. My second attempt at a statement for your header: I have your autographed picture. I kiss you good night every evening before I head to my lonely bedroom.

    7. My third attempt: I found your page with your head shots and all that. You are absolutely adorable. I would love to adopt you.

    8. My fourth attempt: You have a Wikipedia entry. I am mentioned in a Wikipedia entry, or I used to be. Don't know if I still am. Your Wikipedia should get together with my Wikipedia, if it still exists.

    9. My fifth attempt: Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

    10. My sixth attempt: Where we're going, we don't need roads.

    11. I liked your first attempt the best. Do I actually have a Wikipedia entry? Did you make it? I doubt it would still be there.

I enjoyed the atmosphere of the Hard Rock but the food wasn't up to that same standard.

    12. I found your Wikipedia entry a week or so ago. I did not invent it or write it.

  3. Since I've never been to Australia, I have no suggestions at all. Janie's ideas sound interesting, but not sure you can accomplish all that in one night!

  4. Australia is on my bucket list. I plan to go there in about five years. What would I do? Of course see a performance at the Sydney Opera House, Scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef, and hold a koala bear. I know. Touristy. But fun!

    1. Those things are touristy for a reason ;) I've seen some shows at the Opera House before. I haven't done the other two.

  6. Id scuba dive. We have great dive sites or if not your scene, the scenic walk from Bronte beach to Bondi or visa versa. . Or there are fabulous walks on born north head or south head. South head has a ferry ride and a lighthouse (Hornby)

    1. All fantastic suggestions. I wish I could have taken that up. In the end I just had time to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe and go home :P

  8. If I only had one night in Sydney, I'd call you. I could listen to that sweet boyish laughter all night. (smile)

  9. I don't really know. Have the same question as I'm gonna visit Sydney next month. What do I have to see?

    1. If it's your first time, Darling Harbour and Circular Quay should have everything you need. The Opera House and Harbour Bridge are at Circular Quay while Darling Harbour has great places to go for entertainment.
